OUTDOOR WIRELESS PROPAGATION PREDICTION
OUTDOOR WIRELESS PROPAGATION PREDICTION
Dynamic Wireless uses carrier-grade radio planning software to predict wireless coverage over any geographic size, for any frequency, any technology, anywhere on Earth, using the latest sourced digital terrain models down to 5-25 metre resolution, with clutter.
We also have the capability to convert elevation data from any mine site DXF/SHP or other vector file type, to a digital terrain model which when imported into our radio planning software, allowing for the most up-to-date and greatest degree of accuracy when generating RF propagation prediction coverage maps.
We have successfully used our predictions for dozens of client wireless mesh network, PTP/PTM connectivity, and narrowband RF designs before deployment in the field, whether it be a mine site, University campus, airport, rail/tram line, outdoor park or smart city/smart grid deployments.
Using custom antenna pattern files and transmit power characteristics, we are able to customise hardware for any type of wireless vendor hardware, including wireless mesh hardware from Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus, Rajant, ABB Tropos and Cambium. If your chosen vendors do not provide antenna pattern files, no worries as we are able to create these from scratch and import into our RF propagation software!

An example RF propagation prediction map for one of our mine sites is shown below. Multiple wireless mesh AP coverage cells are plotted on the terrain and the resultant coverage predictions merged together to form one single coverage map provided to the client as a Google Earth KMZ file.

ONSITE POST-INSTALLATION WIRELESS MESH SURVEY
After performing the RF Propagation Prediction, we can carry out an onsite visit in order to conduct a GPS-calibrated passive wireless survey to perform a detailed analysis of the current environmental conditions present, taking into account local terrain, spectrum availability and to identify all mounting assets and methods for mounting mesh APs and antennas.
We visit each node location to assess the mounting options and record accurate GPS measurements via our quad-antenna hand-held GPS unit, which we then import into Google Earth and markup with additional information.
In our 'Wireless Site Survey Design Document' provided to you, we provide such details as:

-
Wireless mesh RF propagation prediction maps
-
Identified sources of wired backhaul
-
Placement of Gateway (Backhaul) and Mesh APs
-
Identification of available mounting assets
-
Placement of Antennas and Identification of any antenna cable routing required
-
Plotted GIS information of mesh nodes in Google Earth, using accurate hand-held GPS measurements
-
Identification of Obstructions
-
Line-Of-Site and Hop Count Information, path profile analysis between all mesh APs and more.
